DC Bar Humor

Last night I went to RiRa in Bethesda for my friend Ann's birthday. One thing that most of my friends have in common is that they like to drink and they are total nerds. Tuesday night is Pub Quiz night and our team, The Urban Achievers (guess the movie and you win Love Points with Yours Truly), came in second.

Because I love my friends and love to drink, one bar was not sufficient and I made Ann and a small handful of others walk up the street to another bar. We sat outside for a bit and met two people, Deanna and T-Roach who were both really wasted and really from Real Maryland (read: were hicks). We had a long conversation with T-Roach about crabs and the Chesapeake Bay.

Then, right as we teetered into the tip of drunken political conversation - a requisite for DC bar talk - T-Roach ran up to Ann (who was pretty wasted) and the following conversation ensued:

T-Roach: Ann, what's the opposite of Pro?
Ann: Anti!
T-Roach: No, Con!
Ann: Natch.
T-Roach: What's the opposite of progress??
Ann and T-Roach: Congress!!!

And that was that... well, until T-Roach's girl Deanna bought Ann a shot of Jim Beam, and we all drank some more beer.
